Afternoon tea at SKETCH, London
After about a month not seeing each other, we decided it was time for a proper catch up/work meeting. We decided to meet for afternoon tea at Sketch in central London, after wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time now.
Sketch has quickly become a very popular place to visit, specially for tourists with it's unique design and very central location. Sketch is located in Conduit street, just off Regent street and only a 2 minute walk from Oxford Circus tube station. We had afternoon tea in their big Gallery room, which is super pink and surrounded by 239 art works by David Shrigley. We got served a selection of little sandwiches, cakes, and of course several pots of different teas. Tip.: You only get a time slot of 1,5 hours, but you can order as much cakes and sandwiches as you like and if you don`t finish it all they give you a little take away box at the end, when you have paid ;).
Both the food and the restaurant is very pretty, and it's fair to say that the majority of the visitors was female. Like us, most people were taking a million photos of their beautiful cakes, as well as the cute handmade porcelain - which you can also purchase. So if you don't like this recent trend of people photographing their food, then don't go to Sketch!! Ha. We did of course bring our cameras as we wanted to share our Sketch experience with you here on the blog.
The look of the food was stunning, but the taste of it didn't quite live up to its beauty... sadly. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't amazing - something you do kind of expect from the price that they charge for it. Some of the pieces did however taste very yummy, and we kept ordering more of our favourites (you can have as much as you like included in the set price which is great, you will however struggle to finish it all). Our favourites were the croque monsieur, scones and the chocolate dessert.

All in all we had a lovely time. The atmosphere and decor was amazing, if you are visiting London and looking for a unique experience, then we definitely recommend that you visit Sketch for afternoon tea or even a lovely Dinner.
