Lavender picking at Hitchin Farm, UK - and the benefits of Lavender oil

It's almost the time of the year again and the Lavender starts blooming soon. Then you can go Lavender picking as much as you want. Just 1 hr away from London, you'll find lots of beautiful Lavender fields, like this one - at Hitching Farm, where I (Annabell) went last year. I had no idea that those flower fields exist in the UK, I've always associated Lavender with South of France, close to Grasse. However I only found out about this specific Farm, through some Instagram account I was following.. So of course I wanted to head there as soon as possible ;) to pick some fresh Lavender for the house. I've always been a big fan of the scent and more and more buy oils of 100% Lavender oil, a combination of it as a face oil,  or for example the Stripped Lavender Eye make up remover.

Not forget to mention that I recently painted our front door and gate in Lavender colour. I even bought some blossom Lavender pots for the window bay in the front garden :) haha.

Lavender is the most used essential oil in the world. Ancient texts tell us that Lavender essential oil has been used for medicinal and religious purposes for over 2,500 years.

Did you know that the Egyptians used it for mummification and as a perfume? The Romans used it for bathing. for scenting the air and even for cooking.

Improves eczema and psoriasis

I've had a facial recently whilst being in a Spa in Bath, UK.  It was the first time I've ever heard that Lavender oil can reduce the redness of spots and tries them out super quickly. Before I used tea tree oil, which smells super intense and can be a bit disgusting. My boyfriend doesn't come near me when I use it in my face. But hey, those days are over - as I bought a little bottle of Lavender oil from boots straight after my facial.

There you go, I use it whenever I have a spot and love it. It really helps me to control my spots and does not only smell good it also helps me to calm down after a stressful day packed with castings or after a long shooting day.
