THE COLOUR CURE - SIOBHANS LAST BLOG ENTRY

Clever colour placement can fix practically every hair problem out there. Long gone are the days when you just choose a colour and you just put it on.  We have become so educated in how shadow and light can adjust shape and form that contouring has now become the norm. It’s taken the world by storm with makeup artists publicly broadcasting how they can change the appearance of someone’s face shape with contouring and strobing. This has made many people aware of how powerful strategic colour placement can really be.

I have launched a colour service for Headmasters called The Colour Cure which focuses on how placement of colour can cure many women’s common hair woes. I’ve narrowed it down to the four main hair concerns Volume, Texture, Contour and a Cut Enhancer. The Colour Cure Collection works perfectly on all hair colours as they are only up to a couple of shades lighter or darker than your natural colour.

VOLUME

This is the ideal colour for anyone who has battled flat roots and limp ends. It’s suitable for all hair types but particularly fine and limp hair that needs a bit of a boost.

Having one solid colour can make your hair look flat and lifeless, adding different tones will give your hair an extra boost.   By placing lighter pieces under your parting, this will lift the hair giving the illusion of more space which creates the impression of volume.

TEXTURE ENHANCER

If you love undone hair with movement & tousled texture then this is the colour for you. This is perfect for every tone and shade, but multi-tonal effect of colour is the key to this look.

Your expert colourist will place colour that in contrast with your natural shade on the lengths and ends to emphasise every wave and bend.

CUT DEFINER

Ideal if your have shorter locks and love to wear your hair straight, this look is perfect if you are looking to create lines and make the ends look fuller and stand out. This is perfect for hair that has the tendency to look wispy and lack structure.

Placing a darker panel along the under edge of your cut to define the edges and create a shadow.

FACE CONTOUR

Use this technique to define and enhance your features. It will also help brighten your skin tone.

Lighter pieces around your hair line will draw attention to your best features such as eyes, cheekbones.  Your expert colourist will select the perfect tone for you as a rule usually three shades lighter than your natural shade.

This is perfect for grown out fringes and haircuts with shorter layers around the face.
