IBIZA TRAVEL DIARY BY ANNABELL
This year I’ve been on quite a few trips some of them were planned for a long time and some were more spontaneous. From Indonesia & Bali in April to a 1 week in hot Dubai. Some German summer holidays in Berlin and in Munich (where I`m from), a spontaneous trip to Copenhagen for my Birthday in July and then the final big late summer vacation to Ibiza just end of September :).
So now I’m telling you a little bit about what I think of this party island. It was actually my second time there. The first trip was with MOT models in November for their Model Agency campaign, where I sadly have not seen much other then lots of rain and a bit of the old town. That’s why I had to return and check the island out with more time on my hands to explore this beautiful part of Spain and its beautiful beaches. I still not sure what to think about it, people say you either love it or don't like it. I'm not a party animal and did not even go once into a club even though it was closing party time ;) so I guess lots of people just come to the island to party, well that's obvious as its known for the massive clubs. Besides this there are some beautiful and secluded beaches to find. Two of them which I like the most are Es Torrent and Aigües Blanques.
I can recommend the Restaurant Lamuella for fantastic drinks and food. We first had some amazing drinks at the bar followed by a super delicious testing menu. In the photo above you see their entrance which is just off their car park, the sky and light was just magical. ;)
"Located in the heart of north Ibiza, Lamuella, fittingly named after a utopian planet in Douglas Adam’s“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” trilogy, is home to young, fresh collective of chefs, foodies, designers, artists, musicians, philosophers and artisans." www.lamuella-ibiza.eltenedor.rest/en_GB/#
Also La Paloma is another great Restaurant, we went there with a big group of friends for dinner. We just loved their relaxed atmosphere and eye for details. Keep in mind when you want to go that you definitely have to make a reservation as La Paloma is a super popular place.
"La Paloma" was born in 2004, through the desire of one family to create a restaurant in harmony with the authentic beauty of the island. " www.palomaibiza.com
Another lovely place is Locals only which is located right in the heart of the beautiful Old town of Ibiza. Cosy place, always packed, so reserve or hope for a spot outside. Amazing homemade delicious food, try the Gnocchi.
"We rely mainly on local organic produce, especially when it comes to fish, seafood, fruits and vegetables. Our list of wines is 50% Spanish, 50% Italian and French. With full respect to the island, we limited the use of paper, recycle all the silverware and used only recycled wood to make the furniture and to carve a detailed world map on the wall." www.localsonlyibiza.com
