HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR HIGHLIGHTS ON A BEACH HOLIDAY
As Summer is slowly approaching, we are all starting to book holidays, if lucky enough, to a beach where we can just lie in the sun all day. So naturally when you pack, you prepare to protect your skin with sun screen, your eyes with a pair of sunnies, your lips, with SPF lip balm, but do you think about your hair? I never did.. Until I had my highlights done at Hob Salon, thanks to this month's guest blogger, Pete Burkill! He sorted me out, and booked me in with Amelia Evans, who also works at Hob Salons in Camden as an Educator and Hair stylist! So nice of them, such perfect timing before my big beach holiday for my 30th birthday in Miami! :)
So while Amelia was doing my hair, she gave me some cool tips on how to maintain your highlights and your hair's general health while on a beach holiday!
Use a Thermo/ SPF spray,
Use Olaplex in the hair salon as a service as well No. 3 at home,
Depending on the tone of the blond you have, use a toning shampoo and conditioner to make sure you're keeping the colour at the right shade,
Before styling your hair ( with a wand or straightener) , make sure you use heat protector spray!
IF YOU WANT TO GO ALL NATURAL:
Apply coconut oil on your hair before going out in the sun and wash it off when you're done sunbathing, or even leave it in over night!
Wear a hat to keep your hair out of the sun,
Try and avoid chlorine, you could tie your hair up for example
As it's going to be nice and warm anyway, maybe try and avoid using hair dryer as much as you can!
