PANTONE'S COLOUR OF 2018: ULTRA VIOLET
"INVENTIVE AND IMAGINATIVE, ULTRA VIOLET LIGHTS THE WAY TO WHAT IS YET TO COME"
I'll take this as a sign. I'll tell you why.
As you know by now, the girls and I are all models. While Sara and Annabell are still full time modelling, I decided a few years back-seeing modelling is way too unpredictable, that I'll take on a second job working at a hotel as a cocktail waitress. You may remember reading Sara's recent post about how it can be so quiet at times with modelling jobs. If you don't have family or a partner in London to live with/share costs with, it can get really scary at times. It of course can be just as amazing and busy, where you can save money for the quieter months, but I just had enough of the roller coaster. It's been three years since and in these years I found myself going to less and less castings due to me making a nice living working at a 5 star hotel. I literally couldn't be bothered going to auditions anymore before my 9 hour shifts. Unless of course if it was a strict request one with a high chance of me getting the job.
Now after all this time, I've realised that as much as I enjoy modelling, it isn't my path anymore, and after having to work over the Christmas Holidays at the hotel-which was heartbreaking btw, I've decided it is time for a change. I am now focusing on being a creative, building myself and our joint blog so we won't have to rely on extra income anymore. I'm not going to say it was a New Year resolution, as I've made this decision on the 24th of December serving drinks to celebrating families. Oh joyful times. :)
As you all might know, making a living of blogging takes time, so it's a bit of a patience game really. It won't immediately make enough for you so you can stop working other jobs. But this is our year, I can feel it in my bones!
So you can imagine the smile on my face once I've read Pantone's Colour choice for 2018. :)
UTLRA VIOLET FOR ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the institute, said:
When I've first seen Ultra Violet was the choice for the year, I had no idea what it meant yet, but I've already decided to do a blog post on it, since purple has been my favourite colour since I can remember. Happy coincidence that it actually has a meaning that I made my goal for 2018. :)
Further below I've listed many ways you can include this beautiful colour in your everyday life. You can add them in small doses, such as accessories in your daily wardrobe if you find the colour too intense. I also love having purple in my home, all my towels are this colour, including my bath robe. :)
For anyone wondering, the jumper I'm wearing on the photos is from H&M and it's only 18 quid. xx
