KIDCIRCUS'S LONDON LOCATIONS FOR SHOOTING PORTRAITS

Not forget to mention, that he has shot our new header image and some awesome portraits of us - find the post here

I’ve shot with Annabell four times - I’m including the shoot for The 4 of us new header images (click here)  She is just one of those models who makes it very easy to capture and to bring your ideas to life.

We’ve shot on a housing estate, in a laundrette and on top of a car park - all the good London spots.

LAUNDRETTE AT THE BARBICAN

When you see the locations a lot of photographers and models shoot in, it’s easy to get ideas of where to shoot, as was the case with the laundrette (where Annabell had shot a previous The 4 of us header shoot). The estate (in Barbican) is a place a lot of my fellow photographers had already shot in, and looked worth exploring.

Now, the gym was another matter entirely. I had been trying to source an outdoor basketball court in London that had a feeling of being in New York - the great unloved quality you see in the movies, complete with crappy tarmac, holes in the fence, graffiti-covered backboard. My internet search turned up this.

 Harrow Sports Centre gym

Yes, a gym in the upper tier of a converted church. Not what I was expecting, but right up my street. I rang them immediately. Then I messaged Annabell, who luckily enough was free to shoot the following week. People of a certain age will remember the song “Never Gonna Give You Up” by 80s singer Rick Astley. Well, part of its video was shot here.

Never stop searching for locations, because you never know what you'll find.
