MAKEUP TIPS FOR A FAIR COMPLEXION
Hi guys! I hope you are having a good start to the week :) Oh, and happy Pancake day! Yes, because it is intact pancake day today. This post, however, is not going to be about Pancakes. Sorry!
Today I (Sara) though I’d talk you through some of the makeup I tend to use, and what colours suits me the most. The focus for this post will, therefore, be on what colours to use if you have a fair complexion like myself.
There are, of course, still some different variation in skin type, hair colour etc when it comes to people with a fair complexion. So let me be a bit more specific. I have very pale skin, yet it still has a warm undertone to it. Meaning that I have undertones of yellow, peach and golden in my skin, and I tan quite well if I spend enough time in the sun. The opposite would be a cool undertone which goes more towards pink and red, which is maybe the most usual undertone in people with a fair complexion. My hair is light blonde, and my eyes are green with a touch of grey/blue. So to be very exact here, the shades I talk about in this post should fit well for anyone with quite a fair complexion, with green or blue eyes, and with a warm undertone to their skin.
CHOOSE STRONG BRIGHT LIP COLOURS FOR A BOLD LOOK
I tend to go for quite subtle colours, but when I do occasionally choose a bold lip colour, I make sure it’s a cool and bright one. So choose bright fuchsia and red, rather than a deep plum or warm/brownish red, as this will compliment your complexion the most!
Here I have gone for a bronze eyeshadow and a bright pink special edition lipstick from Elizabeth Arden in collaboration with Reese Witherspoon. The lipstick is called ‘March On’ and it’s all about empowering women, hence why it is released in March - the month of the ‘Womens Day’ (product gifted).
PALE PINK, CORAL & PEACH FOR YOUR EVERYDAY MAKEUP
On a more daily bases, I tend to choose less bold colours, and I alternate between wearing pale pink, coral or peach on my cheeks and lips. These colours and shades also compliment my complexion but give a more natural look.
CORAL & PEACH
Here I have gone for peachy coral lips and cheeks, giving me a nice summery look. These pink shades, which are going more towards orange, are best used when you have a bit of a summer glow to your skin. So mostly suitable for summer!
I love when you can use a product both for your lips and cheeks. Here I have used a matte liquid lipstick from Bourjois called Rouge Edition Velvet. The shade I’m using is the ‘04 Peach Club’. And yes, you can also use it on your cheeks even though it’s a lipstick.
These light shades of pink is definitely a good choice if you wish to create a clean and natural look. It’s suitable all year around, and just gives that little hint of colour.
I have framed my eyes using a metallic eyeliner from NYX in shade ‘copper’ (gifted by @FeelUnique). I have used the eyeliner both above and underneath my eyes, creating a little flick on the outer corners. This colour really makes my green eyes pop. I have left the rest of the lid naked. #ColourMeIn
